1. Do you have to be employed a year before you can join ASPMA?
No, there is no time of employment requirement to join ASPMA.
2. Why must my DPM employer be a member of the American Podiatric Medical Association?
Your DPM employer is required to be a member of the APMA because ASPMA is a related organization.
3. How long is my membership dues good for?
Your membership dues are good for a calendar year, January 1st through December 31st.
4. When should I expect to receive my dues renewal statement?
You should receive your membership dues renewal statement on or
about October 1st of each year, and is payable thru December 31st.
5. Who do I contact when I have a change of employment or address?
It is mandatory that YOU contact the MEMBERSHIP
CHAIR. The membership chair is the person who furnishes the
addresses to the mailing service for the Journal mailing. The
Journals are sent bulk mail and are not forwarded by the U.S.P.S.
6. Can I purchase replacement name badges?
You can contact the membership chair to purchase replacement name badges for the assistants that are not certified. Certified assistants must contact the Q&E Chair to purchase their replacement GOLD name badges.
7. Do I receive a new membership card every year?
No, you only receive one membership card when you joined ASPMA. Each year you renew your membership dues you receive a sticker to affix to your card.
8. Can I recertify my PMAC before I pay my membership dues?
No, your membership dues must be paid each year before you can begin the recertification process.
9. What happens to my membership if I leave my employer?
If you terminate your employment in a podiatry office you can contact
the membership chair and have your membership changed to "inactive"
status. If you resume employment in a podiatry office you can change
back to "active" status.
